The Penticton & Area Women's Centre celebrated Take Back the Night on Tuesday Sept. 30th/08, starting at the Ooknakane Friendship Centre, 1203 Main St. We were joined by staff from the Multi-Cultural Society and the Women in Need Society, as well as people who work with Youth at Risk on the ARC Program. Many community locals participated, and students, as well as the local RCMP and the Okanagan Hocky School.

We shared a moment of silence to acknowledge the women (& men, and children!) who have experienced violence. After the moment of silence we walked down Main Street to Fiboncci's downtown. Our walk wase accompanied by young traditional native women singers! At Fibonacci's we enjoyed the music of local musicians Danielle Savage and Billy Walker.

Here are some photos of the evening! Thanks to Stacy Franck for taking these shots!!!
