On December 6, 1989, 14 young women were killedby a
lone gunman at an engineering school in Montreal.

The events of that day focused national attention on male violence against women.

This year marks 20 years since the 14 women were killed on December 6 at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal.

The Penticton & Area Women' s Centre intends to honour the memories the 14 women killed at Ecole Polytechnique, by fostering a dialogue with youth about human rights.

This project will use art as a vehicle to provide participants with skills and tools to help build a healthy and safe society.

We are looking for a few youth (14-20+), who are be interested in discussing human rights issues and designing and painting a mural for this project. The process will take place over two full-day sessions (November 29 and December 6th). Lunch is provided.

Please contact Chandra Wong by phone (250) 493-6822 or email events@pawc.ca if you're interested or need more information.
