PAWC wishes to broaden its presence within the community, and reach out to more women and men. Advocacy and education will remain priorities for us. Our goal is that all women and men in the South Okanagan-Similkameen know that if they are seeking change, their journey to independence can start at the Women's Centre. Often, the centre is also the last resource for people when all other avenues have been exhausted. We would like the community to know that staff and volunteers will offer encouragement, a listening ear, and information on where to turn, to any person who comes through our doors, whatever his or her situation.
With your help, the Women's Centre will continue to advocate for people in need, support and inform women in crisis, provide prevention education and identify gaps and needs in services within the community. As well, PAWC will work diligently to fill those gaps.
We know from the many women and men we help each month, that the world we envision is still a work in progress, but each day we bring it a step closer. With your help, we will continue to do so for many years. Together, we can level the playing field for women and girls, and create a healthy world in which there is equality, respect, tolerance, justice and joy.
How Can I Help?
Improve the odds for daughters, sisters, mothers, wives, partners, lovers, friends and neighbours…maybe yourself.
The Penticton & Area Women's Centre recently celebrated twenty years of service to women in the community. A financial contribution from you would help us to continue responding to over 1500 requests for assistance annually. Together, we can continue building better communities by advancing the social, economic, and cultural equality of women, and advocating for women and men.
We Honour All Our Donors
Donors of gifts, including planned gifts, in excess of $5,000 can support and name special projects or programs of the Penticton & Area Women's Centre.Donors of gifts of over $50 annually will be recognized on a display in our drop in centre.
